The senior year for SHS students has many traditions. The first is painting a square on a parking spot. Seniors have been doing this for about 6 years now. The Associated Student Government members set up the supplies and provide music and encouragement as incoming seniors paint a spot to be “theirs” for the year. Each spot still has the name of all past grads who have claimed that spot in years past. The second tradition is gathering for Senior Sunrise in which seniors gather together to see the sunrise on their final year at SHS. They bookend this with Senior Sunset at the end of the school year, gathering to watch the sunset together.
