Electives
Elective courses in Art and Music provide students with the opportunity to explore and express their creativity through visual and auditory mediums.

Elective courses in Art and Music provide students with the opportunity to explore and express their creativity through visual and auditory mediums. In the Art elective, students engage in a range of artistic techniques, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital design. They learn to communicate ideas, emotions, and perspectives visually, honing their observational and imaginative skills. In the Music elective, students delve into the world of sound, learning to play instruments, compose melodies, and appreciate various genres. They develop an understanding of rhythm, harmony, and musical structure, while also experiencing the profound ways in which music can convey feelings and stories. Both electives foster self-expression, critical thinking, and cultural appreciation, enriching students’ holistic educational experiences.

Art

The Sisters Middle School Art program seeks to expose students to the world of visual arts, experience a wide variety of 2D and 3D media, experiment with multiple approaches to design problems, and foster character, independence, and responsibility.

ECoS

ECoS (which stands for Earth, Community Self) is a science class unlike any other in the country: our classroom is the state of Oregon, we learn frequently outside of our personal comfort zones, and our classmates become family.

Foreign Languages

Class topics are practiced and solidified through art, music, games, and speaking activities.

Music

The Sisters Middle School Music Program strives to provide every middle school student with a well-rounded music education. Sisters School District believes in the power of music education on the developing middle school mind and has created a collection of course offering that support this fact.

STEAM

Whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere.  In order for our students to be successful after high school in the “real” world, they must know technology.   Being a consumer of technology is simply not enough.  ALL students should be able to command, bend, and create technology to their will!At Sisters Middle School, we offer a variety of classes around technology.
